We have four lanes available for winter sports enthusiasts and company events. Our artificial ice rinks deliver an authentic feel while meeting the highest sustainability standards. Facilities, including toilets and weatherproof shelters, are located conveniently nearby. Make your Christmas celebration extra special with a custom projection of your company logo on the artificial ice – for an unforgettable team event!

GIANT WHEEL
Our Ferris wheel, which was built exclusively for the Schönbrunn Palace Christmas Market, offers an incomparable ride with a breathtaking view.
The wheel rises high above the Court of Honor and offers guests a fascinating view of the festively decorated Christmas market and the majestic backdrop of the palace. Each round opens up a new panorama that impressively showcases the beauty of Schönbrunn in winter. An absolute must for anyone who wants to enjoy a bird's eye view of the Christmas spirit!
ICE SKATING
Open daily during market opening hours
Our large 15x30m ice rink promises winter fun for all! This eco-friendly, zero-energy artificial ice surface offers excellent glide quality, almost like natural ice. Whether you’re a beginner or pro, young or young at heart, everyone is welcome! For our littlest guests, we provide helmets, skating aids and toddler ice skates free of charge. Thanks to the unique artificial surface, parents can also join in wearing regular shoes (with overshoes).

Live Music Program
Festive melodies fill the Ehrenhof as the new music program accompanies the Christmas Market for the first time throughout the entire Advent season. More than thirty performances by choirs, brass bands and small ensembles provide musical variety and heartwarming moments in front of the beautifully decorated Christmas tree.

When the scent of fine chocolate mingles with the glow of festive lights, Lindt & Sprüngli is never far away. For the first time, the Swiss tradition brand is presenting itself at the Schönbrunn Christmas Market, inviting visitors to explore more than 300 square meters of pure indulgence and Christmas magic.
At the heart of the market, guests can discover the enchanting Lindt “Golden Christmas” Experience World, featuring festive light installations that double as perfect photo spots for unforgettable moments. In the lovingly designed huts, visitors can enjoy seasonal chocolate creations, exclusive gifts, and the popular Lindt Hot Chocolate.
A special highlight are the chocolate workshops with the Lindt Maîtres Chocolatiers, where visitors of all ages can get creative and decorate their own sweet masterpieces
CRIB WINTERWONDER Mörbisch
Discover a faithful replica of the world’s largest nativity scene.
The real highlight awaits on the Seebühne in Mörbisch: an awe-inspiring nativity scene created by renowned stage designer Manfred Waba.
With a width of 90 meters and a height of 18 meters, this masterpiece is a visual experience of extraordinary scale. A new light production transforms the scene into a sea of colors and emotions – a sight that truly gives you goosebumps. It is a place where you can feel the spirit of Christmas, find inner peace, and simply breathe in the magic of the season.

Our two nostalgic carousels whisk visitors away to the romantic world of winter festivals past. With detailed wooden figures and a touch of vintage charm, they offer a special experience for children and adults alike. While the little ones happily ride in circles, adults enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere and reminisce about times gone by. An unmistakable highlight that immerses young and old in the magical Christmas world of Schönbrunn!
CHILDREN'S TRAIN
Our lovingly designed children's train invites young guests to take a magical ride through the festively decorated Christmas world. With its cheerful steam and colorful carriages, the train offers an unforgettable experience for children and puts them in a Christmas adventure mood. The ride through the fairytale setting of the market makes children's hearts beat faster and their eyes light up.
THE STAR PORTAL &
THE CHRISTMAS TREE
On entering the Christmas market, our guests walk through a magnificent starry portal at the main entrance, which is an iconic feature of the market appearance and offers an unforgettable welcome with its gently pulsating lights.
The traditional Christmas tree, kindly provided by the Austrian Federal Forests, comes this year from the Taxenbach Forest District in the Rauris Valley, Salzburg, adding the perfect finishing touch to the festive atmosphere.
Together for LICHT INS DUNKEL
This year, Schönbrunn Palace Christmas Market is delighted to be entering into a special cooperation with LICHT INS DUNKEL, one of Austria's most important and traditional fundraising campaigns. Especially in the pre-Christmas period, which stands for community and charity, we would like to contribute to supporting people in difficult life situations.
When the then ORF regional director Kurt Bergmann launched a pilot project in Advent 1973 with an appeal for donations on the radio and was promised donations of around 34,000 Austrian schillings (approx. 2,000 euros) for the Lebenshilfe facility in Sollenau, nobody was aware that this would be the first step towards the largest fundraising campaign in Austria. Today, LICHT INS DUNKEL is a unique aid campaign throughout Europe that has stood for social cohesion for 50 years now.
Since its launch in 1973, almost 400 million euros have been collected - more than 22 million in the last campaign year alone. This money flows into the emergency aid fund to support people in acute need and promotes projects for socially disadvantaged population groups, women and children affected by violence and people with learning difficulties or disabilities. The LICHT INS DUNKEL innovation fund also enables people with disabilities to truly participate in society.
FOR A GOOD CAUSE
The Christmas season is considered the most contemplative time of the year. As a team with a strong sense of social responsibility, it is all the more important for us to put our actions around the Schönbrunn Palace Christmas Market in the service of a good cause. We are delighted to support selected initiatives and charitable organizations financially year after year with energy and passion.
DIY stall by “Holzzirkus”
Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Our DIY stall is a wooden world of fun! Here, under the guidance of trained caregivers, children aged three and up can create various projects out of wood, learning the basics of woodwork while having a great time. The DIY stall has everything young creators need: age-appropriate, low-noise tools with special child safety locks, solid natural wood and other materials.
Price: €8.00 per child per project
Duration: approximately 1 hour
For schools/groups of up to 25 people, by appointment only from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
From 2 p.m. onwards, participation without appointment – places subject to availability.
